I want to tell you some about Mercadal; my little village:
It’s in the middle of Minorca and it’s next to the tallst mountain on the island (a hill 357m. tall pfff!!) here, we celebrate Sant Martí when people make jump the horses. There’s a church here, and a sport center and a “Sala Multifuncional” too. In the “Sala Multifuncional” we can see a movie, a theatre play….

Es Mercadal is small village to the center of Menorca.
There’s a mountain near my village, El Toro it’s the highest place I n Menorca.
There’s a modern and big “Sala Multifuncional” where we can watch films, plays, celebrations…
There’s a small church but is very tall.
There’s a big school. In the school there are 3 playgrounds.
Ses Ramones is a riding club, there are horses there.

I have read your comment. I want to tell you that my parents have give me a puppy in February, it had one year and five days, its name’s Tracy. I’m very happy! This year I’ll go to Disney land of France (Orlando) with my parents and my uncle and to another island called Mallorca. I live in a little village in the center of Menorca, called Mercadal, here’s a little church called “Sant Martí”, three parks, one square, many shops, restaurants, my school, many houses, a mount tourist called “Monte Toro”, a football stadium, a tennis court, a sport center, a riding club called “Ses Ramones”, farms, orchards, a hotel called “Jenny” and many animals. Our typical celebrations are : “FIESTAS DE SAN MARTIN” in the “FIESTAS” there are horses, music and fairs… When we have “FIESTAS” we eat “ensaimada ” is a typical pie..

Hello and welcome to everyone! My name is Kayla and I work as an English language assistant in Spain. I’m very happy to introduce a very special pen pal project between two elementary schools: George Rogers Clark Elementary in Clarksville, Indiana, USA and CP Mare de Déu del Toro in Es Mercadal, Menorca, Spain. American students from Mr. Kane’s 5th grade class and Spanish students from Pili’s 6th grade class will be getting to know each other through this blog, each group sharing letters, photos, and other wonderful things from their own cultures and countries. I have no doubt that this project will be very successful in helping all the students involved learn about another culture and I can’t wait to get started. So let’s start the fun!
